After posting their finest result of their season at Phoenix Firebird Speedway where the team made the cut in 12th spot, Rapisarda Racing are upbeat heading into the penultimate round of the 2011 NHRA championship at Las Vegas International Speedway this weekend.

“After Vegas the boys stayed on in Phoenix for five or six days to service the car and do some work on our new trailer,” said team owner Santo Rapisarda.  “They drove here to Vegas on Sunday for a few days break before we head out to the track to set up and do tech inspection on Wednesday.  After Phoenix Cory went to visit his family in California and is driving his motorhome up on Wednesday. The weather forecast for the weekend is looking good. Qualifying is expected to be around the mid-80s which is ideal for the tune-up we want to put in the car and should play into our hands.

“The first order of the meeting will be to get in the field. We have one of the best steerers in the NHRA behind the wheel of our car in Cory McClenathan and traditionally the Vegas meeting attracts a strong Aussie contingent. We want to put on a good show for our fans as well as give the NHRA regulars a run for their money.”
