As we head towards the Jamboree 25, the pinnacle event on the Sport Compact calendar coming to Willowbank Raceway on Aug 25, main game players are beginning to hit the track in preparation.
Yesterday at a Sydney Dragway track hire there were a number Sport Compact machine snap up the opportunity to turn the tyres.
PAC is back. The once world record holding PAC Performance team have taken a time to develop some new ideas in a bid to chase down the record once again, and a 6.37 at 214mph has the team back on track with the best number they have run in quite some time.
GAS Motorsports have a new Factory Xtreme Camry on deck for Nathan Hagenson. While still learning the ropes driving what can be temperamental beasts, Hagenson went 7.10 on an anything but clean pass.
Mohammed Ibrahim is another also coming to grips driving the ex Tucker Pro Stocker now punching on with a killer Maatouk Racing RB30 between the rails. The Monaro clocked a 7.58 at 185 on a very untidy pass.
Speaking of untidy, Loues Consentino was discovering tyre shake in his 2JZ motivated RX7.
Shane Flaiban and the Cathis Racing team are still ironing out the kinks in their new RX7.
Wheelstands at 300 feet were a problem with keeping Elia Hajjar in his lane, the RX3 was calmed down – kinda- for a 7.11 at 189mph.
Back to back National Super Compact champion Dom Rigoli did not execute a full pass.
Maatouk Racing are ensuring they stay on top the VL turbo tree, with George Haramis launching [GH0747] to a string of 7.60’s and Boz Georgievski smashed personal bests with a 7.84.
