Team Mopar Australia’s Lee Bektash has put his support behind the Australian Cancer Research Foundation with Australia’s quickest and fastest Pro Stock star committing to donating the team’s prize money to help in the fight to fast-track a cure for Cancer.

“This is something that I have been wanting to do for a little while,” explained Bektash.

“I have lost a first cousin to cancer 6 months ago and our family has also lost another relative to cancer last year.

“Cancer effects everyone and we want to help be a part of helping find a cure and making sure as few families as possible are effected like we have been.

“A cure is out there, we just need to find it!” explained the Victorian racer.

The Australian Cancer Research Foundation is a private organisation, relying on the power of the community in order to provide Australia’s best cancer research teams with the technologies and facilities they need to fast-track discoveries.

The ACRF committee of internationally renowned cancer scientists reviews all applications for ACRF funding, to ensure only the most innovative, cutting-edge proposals receive grants at the end of every year.

Bektash added, “We have been so proud of our team’s efforts over the last few season, we have had good results because of our team and our support.

“The team at Calder Park has doubled the prize money, which is great and this means we have an opportunity to put that money to good use – and there is no better cause than this!

The research ACRF funds and supports the analysis and testing of new treatment, diagnostic and preventative measures for all types of cancer. It keeps Australian scientists at the forefront of medical research and brings us ever closer to the cures.

Bektash concluded, “This is a privelage for the Team Mopar Australia crew, we will be putting everything into winning and giving something back!”
