Schultz in quick fire return

The Schultz Family Racing altered has been repaired following a chassis-destroying wheelstand in testing a month ago.

At a private test session the Schultz team was testing a new engine combination for B/AA. After early runs and a personal best performance the day turned sour when the wheelie bar pin was mistakenly not put back in position after the car was lifted up on jacks in the pits.

The end result was a wild wheelstand for Daniel Schultz, severely damaging the chassis, steering, A–arms, side panels and front wheel.

Ironically this is the second time this altered has suffered a chassis bending wheelstand, Greg Schultz had bought the car off the Gatt brothers following a similar incident.

The car was rushed to Richard Botica who front halved the chassis from the engine plate forward, the chassis was repainted from grey to black and the car reassembled ready for racing at this weekend’s Track Championship round at Sydney Dragway.
