The world’s first full chassis R35 race car is soon to be debuted, with Western Australia’s Aaron Gregory to show off the car at the Jamboree next weekend before launching into testing back in Perth. Drag News has this exclusive first look.

Photos by Luke Nieuwhof. The lines of the R35 really suit the drag strip. It’s a tough stance with pumped rear hindquarters and a long hanging nose. Gregory has done all the work in house for this race car and his professionalism shows through. The R35 also has two sister cars with one destined for the east coast and another for the Middle East.

Things don’t get any less tough from behind. Twin chutes will help slow the AA/SC classed GTR down from 200mph passes.

A Pro Stock-style chassis hides underneath the body. 10.5 inch tyres have been used on the back to ensure the R35 could be a battler in those ever growing ranks as well.

Inside are swathes of carbon fibre around the Liberty gearbox. A Racepak dash will provide all the vital info for Aaron when he drives.

Up the front is a unique combination, a 4.8 litre straight six from a Nissan Patrol. A lot of parts have been custom designed for the car.

As we said earlier, if you want to see this stunning car in the flesh, make sure you head to the Jamboree on August 27 and 28 at Willowbank Raceway where it will be on display. Aaron plans to make his first passes in anger at the pre-season test and tune at Perth Motorplex.
