Lamattina Top Fuel Racing, one of Australia’s most high profile drag racing teams, has put their support behind Novita Children’s Services for the event at Sydney Dragway on 5 – 7 May.

The team is offering their new ‘blank canvas’ dragster as a unique opportunity for fans to be a part of the team’s upcoming Nitro Thunder event. Race fans will be able to sign their name on the car for a gold coin donation, which will be given to Novita to help with their wonderful work in the area of children’s disability services.

Team boss, Phil Lamattina added, “As a team, we are happy to be able to do this for Novita kids and to also have the fans literally on-board as a part of our team, we are encouraging fans to take social media pictures and share them with their friends and family to help promote the cause.”

Novita Children’s Services is one of the largest providers of quality services to children living with disability and other special needs, (including their families) for 75 years. Novita supports children and young people throughout their childhood and adolescent years, in Adelaide, regional South Australia and beyond with services including therapy and aquatic therapy, medical services, family support, physical rehabilitation, psychology, rehabilitation services and speech pathology

The dragster will be driven for the Sydney event by none other than NHRA superstar, Richie Crampton.

Adelaide-born Crampton moved to the United States in 2004 to chase his dream of becoming a professional driver in the world’s biggest drag racing championship – the NHRA’s Mello Yello Drag Racing Series.

After 10 years working as a crewmember in various roles for a number of the sport’s major teams, Crampton realised his dream in 2014 when he was signed to drive the GEICO Insurance Top Fuel dragster for Morgan Lucas Racing.

Crampton has since gone on to become Australia’s most successful driver in the series, with seven national event victories in eight final rounds, and recording three straight Top 10 point finishes, including a best of third in 2015.

Team boss Phil Lamattina continued, “We will also have limited edition ‘LTFR Richie Crampton’ caps for sale at the event and we will donate $2 from every cap sold to Novita kids also.”

“This will be the only time you ever see a plain LTFR race car, so we figured why not take this opportunity to give the fans a chance to really be involved and let them ‘Ride with Richie’, all for a good cause!”

“This is a great event and we have a great driver, a great car and a great cause – let’s hope we get a great result,” Lamattina smiled.

Meanwhile, the team’s dragster has only just arrived in Sydney, ready to be prepped for the weekend’s racing, check out the pictures below!
