After a career covering sports management, manufacturing and transport, Greg Humphreys has been appointed to the new ANDRA position of Deputy CEO/Business Manager.

Based in Adelaide, Humphreys spent some years as the CEO of the Adelaide Thunderbirds/Netball SA, with responsibilities in areas such as team operations, venue management, events, membership and sponsorship.

“The new position is part of the restructure of ANDRA and a broadening of our resources,” said ANDRA CEO Tony Thornton.

“As well as bringing great experience and fresh objectivity to the team in a number of areas, Greg will play a key role in the implementation of the revised governance process over the next few months.”

Humphreys stated that he is very excited about taking on the ANDRA Deputy CEO/Business Manager role and looks forward to adding value and new dimensions to what is truly a most exciting and dynamic sport.

“With over 25 years of national and international management experience in both the corporate and sporting sectors, I am well positioned to offer ANDRA broad strategic support which will ensure that drag racing in Australia continues to grow its membership base by increasing its appeal to a broader market,” he said.

The 2011 ANDRA Strategic Plan has a strong emphasis on delivering high quality services and innovative practices to our existing members; Humphreys will be taking every opportunity to ensure that ANDRA achieves these objectives as they pursue a larger slice of the sporting market.
