Epic Rotor vs. Piston Battle

Factory Xtreme racers have world records as well as each other in their sights as they hit the Willowbank Raceway quarter mile tomorrow and Saturday in a six-round format that will showcase the fastest compacts on the planet!

Featuring more Australian and world record holders than any other category, Factory Xtreme is a category that always has spectators on the edge of their seats as well as a truly massive worldwide following.

Fresh off the back of their recent Australian record breaking performance that saw their 20B rotary-powered Mazda 6 SP run 6.353 @ 217mph, the Pac Performance team have a clear goal in mind for this event. Driver George Rehayem put it simply, “We want our world record back. It’s that simple.”

Doing it for the four-cylinder fans, Collin Willshire and the Jett Racing crew have had some exciting results in the lead-up to the event with the billet Mitsubishi 4G63 reeling off an effortless 6.8sec pass at 204mph.

Similarly, Joe Signorelli is looking for big things from the Gas Racing Celica. A former world record holder with a personal best of 6.26sec at over 233mph, Joe will be one to watch. “We’re focussing on the Celica at this event so we really want to build on the success we’ve had at Willowbank in the past. I’ve made some changes to car and I want to smash the outright speed record for a sport compact car. The ET should come with it but we’re here to send a message to our competition.”

The 2014 Fuchs Winternationals runs from the 5th – 8th of June at Willowbank Raceway, Champions Way, Willowbank QLD. Tickets are available at the gate or online from willowbankraceway.com.au. Children 13 and under admitted free.
