Four Winternationals crowns for Tremaniac Racing

Hard work and dedication paid off for brothers Tyronne and Aaron Tremayne at this year’s Fuchs Winternationals as the pair met for the fifth time in a final, with Aaron taking the win after a red light from Tyronne.

“We were extremely busy,” said father Kerry. “Our parts for our engines arrived two days before the warm-ups. Then the tail gate loader decided to give us a hard time and to top it off it rained on Saturday at the warm-ups hence no data for the Winters.”

Pro Stock qualifying was sensational and after the third session Tyronne bumped his car into second place with a 6.970, while a 6.975 from Aaron could only manage fourth position.

Eliminations saw both cars progress through to the finals. Highlights from eliminations included Aaron running an impressive 196.82mph to set a new national record for speed and Aaron running Australia’s first side by side Pro Stock six alongside Lee Bektash.

Aaron said he knew that race would be fast and it could have gone either way.

“Lee is driving extremely well,” he said. “With crew chief Tommi Laine’s knowledge and expertise they will be the team to beat.”

Tyronne was not to be outdone when in the semi-finals he ran an impressive 6.97 pass at 196.85mph, taking the national speed record from his brother who had just reset it.

Despite the red light that came in the final, Kerry was more than happy.

“We are over the moon, this is the best win we ever had, the boys in the final at the Winters, it doesn’t get any better than that,” he said. “Congrats to both my boys, I am an extremely proud father.

“Tyronne rolled in a bit further than usual and I believe that contributed to his -.001 red but he is runner-up at the Winters and he has a new national record courtesy of the 196.85 mph pass in the semis.

“We are an all Australian team, full credit has to go to Aaron for his engine building skills, remember we manufacture, build and run own cylinder heads on our engines and his prowess as a driver and crew chief is without question.”

Tremaniac Racing would like to thank their team – Russell, Kyle, Lee, Robbie and Jason and special thanks to Dean McMahon for his support and help over the weekend and also Brad from Performance Wholesale – as well as sponsors LAT Racing Oil, MPG Residential, Noonan Race Engineering, Braswell Carbs, Diamond Pistons, Total Seal Rings, Revolution Race Gear, Penske Shocks, LKI Clothing and Five Three Designs.
