Calder Park’s Street Outlaws ran on another Sunday afternoon for their thrid round of qualifying. Cars were lined up onto the highway and there were an impressive number of spectators watching as the battle for bragging rights continues to grow.
Early leader Daniel Sharban was the talk of Street Outlaws again in his potent Ford Capri proving it had more left in it. A impressive 9.15 at 148mph took back the top spot off Greg Aitkens 9.24 from round two.
This round saw many new entrants to the series come out to fight for a spot on their representative lists.
One worth noting was Luke Foley in his VH Commodore, fitted with a 408ci LS1 running a single Borg Warner S480 turbo on 15psi of boost, pump e85 in the tank and on 275 radials he ran 9.83 at just 93mph. With his VH in the process of recieving ANDRA tech, you can expect the car back on track and making his way further up the list.
Daniel Neindorf ran his beautiful 1972 Dodge Challenger for the first time in Street Outlaws clocking a 11.45 at 116mph.
Super Street racer Vic Veljanovski was back with his HG Kingswood improving with an 11.66 @ 116mph.
Pro Street icon George Haddad also drove his revamped Falcon to a 10.93 @ 127mph.
Street Outlaw Mod regular Brandon Zito bought his LJ Torana out to play and, improving again with a 9.72 at 139mph, with some good reactions predictions are he will be one to watch come Boxing Day.
Street Outlaws round four qualifier is on “Fast Friday” locked in for the 5th of September.
