moitsSydney drag racer Paul Mouhayet has been one of the stars of a so far remarkable weekend in St Louis as part of the Street Car Supernationals, briefly holding the title as the world’s fastest doorslammer.

Mouhayet’s Moits Ford Mustang, on just its second full run, blitzed a hot track with a 5.66 at 263.92mph, a mark that held the title of world’s fastest until Q80 Racing Team’s Turky Al Zafiri dropped a 5.53 at a near unbelievable 270.27mph.

Mouhayet was in form from the start of testing, with the car’s first full run netting a 5.75/260mph.

“It’s crazy hot here, like 37 degrees; car felt awesome to drive,” Mouhayet said of his first drive in the Tim McAmis-built ride via his Facebook page. “Moved around a little on the gear change but managed to get it back in the groove.”

Mouhayet is running the car in Outlaw Pro Mod trim.

Eliminations commence early tomorrow morning Australian time.
