The momentum continues to increase for the Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Car series with confirmation that Paul Shackleton-owned “Shack Attack” will be driven by US hot-shoe, Clint Thompson at the November 29 Night of Fire event held at Sydney Dragway.

An experienced drag racing campaigner with a resume littered with funny car success, Thompson has been successful in both NHRA and ADRL competition, with victories in the biggest events such as the AAA Texas NHRA Fall Nationals in Top Alcohol funny car.

“It’s great to have Clint on-board with us,” explained team owner Shackleton.

“He has a ton of experience in these cars and Top Alcohol funny cars and I’m sure he’ll help us find the sweet spot for our new Shack Attack Camaro very quickly.

“Sydney’s Night of Fire is the biggest funny car event of the year in Australia and we want to try and get the Shack Attack, and Clint, on the top of the podium.”

Aeroflow series manager Steve Bettes chimed in: “Having Tommy Johnson Jr. here and now Clint Thompson for the Night of Fire is amazing for our category and this event.

“We are getting some of the best racers in the world sitting up and taking notice of the way we are running these events, so it’s all very positive.

“Anyone who has seen Clint race will know he’s a sharp operator and this will give the US an even better chance of taking home some silverware. It also adds to the international flavour, two Americans and a New Zealander are all out to get the Aussies – bring it on!”
