The Brothers Tremayne will duke it out for the ANDRA Drag Racing Series Australian Pro Stock Championship in the Grand Final Australian Nationals this weekend at Sydney Dragway.

Although Championship leader Aaron Tremayne has a commanding 76-point lead, the title is not a lock as big brother Tyronne is an outside shot to steal the ANDRA Gold Championship Christmas Tree coming off his recent Benaraby Nationals win.

The brothers have traded round wins this season and insist there will be no F1 style team orders as Aaron tries to secure a fifth Pro Stock Championship while Tyronne looks for his first.

“No team orders, I will be trying my best to win the meeting,” said Aaron. “Hopefully the qualifying order will see us not meeting each other during the rounds.

“The most important event on the calendar is to win the Nationals and, except the Greg Flaherty Memorial Trophy, is I would say, a dream of every Pro Stock driver.”

Tyronne added; “Both of us race to win, we have always been extremely competitive especially when we race each other, no holding back.

“I haven’t won the Nationals, but it is the event of the year and hopefully I can put it on my win list in the near future.”

Although locked in a Championship battle, Tremaniac Racing is on the verge of a one-two finish in 2014.

They attribute the teams success to the their home grown engine program developed the past few years and built on a foundation of consistency.

“(We’re) definitely not the best but we have tried to be consistent over the years,” explained Aaron.

“As you know we have our own engine program and actually manufacture our own cylinder heads.

“With limited funds to spend on research and development it is basically impossible to keep up with our US counterparts. But we try our best.”

“Aaron is responsible for making more horsepower, we are definitely not the best but we put 110 per cent into our program,” added Tyronne.

“As Raz says, you need to be consistent to win Championships.”

That consistency has led the team to a perfect season so far taking out each of the completed Pro Stock rounds this season.

But in order to keep that record alive, they will need to overcome their Fuchs Winternationals sparring partner Lee Bektash.

The Mopar man fired a warning shot this week going under the National elapsed time record and over the mile per hour record on a 6.935 second pass at 197 mph in testing on Tuesday and a 6.903 at 198.35 mph on Wednesday.

It adds plenty of fuel to the Australian Nationals fire as Tyronne still holds the official mile per hour record reaching 196.85 mph at Willowbank Raceway.

Aaron on the other hand matched Bektash in a side-by-side 6.96-second pass, a first in Australia, on his way to the winning the Fuchs Winternationals.

As six-second times have become regular during testing for numerous Pro Stock competitors this week, Aaron and Tyronne anticipate a good Sydney Dragway track surface.

And with a Championship, a perfect season, a prestigious Australian Nationals victory and National record bragging rights on the line, we could be in for some fireworks.

“Sydney is a good track but has a couple of bumps in it,” explained Tyronne.

“One is right on the shift point which can catch you out, you actually have to wait for the second blink of the shift light, if you don’t, then say goodbye to your ET.

“I am looking forward to a killer start line and some good 330-foot times.”

“The track in Sydney is usually quite good,” said Aaron.

“We basically run during the day so we will be missing out on those tricky track conditions that sometimes happen when night sets in so all should be good.”

Don’t miss the action as titles will be decided and Champions will be crowned when the season deciding Australian Nationals take over Sydney Dragway October 31 – November 2.

Qualifying for the Aeroflow Sportsman Drag Racing Championship gets underway on Friday October 31st from 9am with eliminations to commence from 10am on Saturday November 1 and continue through Sunday November 2 from 9:45am.
