The Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Car event at FUCHS South Coast Raceway will have a local Victorian team in the line-up with the confirmation that the Melbourne-based team whom regularly race their ‘Russler’ Mustang will be piloting the ‘Back to the Future’ Plymouth Satellite.

Team driver, Aaron Russell was happy to be aboard the Back to the Future machine for the event.

“We are extremely grateful to Graeme (Cowin) for giving us this opportunity.”

“Our car had some mechanical issues in Sydney and we were always going to be up against it in trying to get the parts we needed to get our car ready for Portland.

The Back to the Future car has been campaigned by New Zealand-based driver Willy White in recent events.

Russell added, “We saw in Sydney that this car has plenty of potential and we are looking to take some race wins in it, that’s for sure!

“We think the car’s setup will be suited to the eighth mile track at Portland. The Portland crew have just put the finishing touches to the new concrete surface and we’ll be working hard to get that 4000hp to the ground.

Russell will be a part of a massive 10 entries in the nitro funny car field, a huge turnout for a regional venue.

One of those entries will include former Australia Top Fuel Champion; Darren Morgan, who will be making his funny car debut.
