Barry Turner will be getting the ex-V&E Rigoli Racing Datsun ute back to the track shortly with a Nissan RB26 GTR motor now sitting up front.

“We have taken the car out four times since purchasing with a best of 7.95@172mph and top qualifier in Mod 10.5 at Jamboree,” Turner said.

“This off season the car is being overhauled with more engine work and a brand new full floater diff to make sure everything is safe.”

“With my experience on Top Fuel and Top Doorslammer teams and as crew chief of Frank Mamone’s Outlaw 10.5 Nova, as well as having Vince Rigoli on board as one of the premier Sport Compact tuners in Australia we are hoping to really push some limits and run the first six sec, 200mph pass for a Datsun ute in the world. All while being only half chassis and automatic!”

Turner said EMS EFI systems have come on board with the team as naming rights sponsor for the 2015/16 season, supplying the latest and most powerful engine control and data acquisition systems. Al’s Race Glides will also be on board, using his own innovative designs in the C4 gearbox. Nulon Oils will be supplying the lubrication to ensure everything stays in one piece.
