For the first time ever, Australia’s quickest street cars are coming to Perth for the inaugural Australian Pro Street Association (APSA) round at Perth Motorplex on 31 October 2015.

The APSA round will combine with the opening round of the Perth Motorplex Track Championship for one gigantic show to begin the 2015/16 season.

Among the big names from the east entering the event is the record breaking twin turbo Moits Mustang driven by Paul Mahouyet.

Even before it was officially announced, the debut event in Perth attracted huge interest with eastern state stars ready to make the trip across west such as Frank Mamone, Zoran Gajic, Shelly Davies, Stew Walsh and Craig Hewitt – to name just a few.

“After many weeks of discussions with the management of Perth Motorplex and canvasing WA’s fastest Pro Street racers, we are stoked to announce this event is ON!” said APSA manager Peter Pisalidis.

“The real bonus is having some of the fastest Pro Street cars on the planet coming to Perth for 31st October. This will be an event not to be missed. The rest of Australia has enjoyed the popularity of the Pro Street Shootouts, and now Perth race fans finally get to experience it.”

In APSA territory, when people use the reference to “that orange car”, they are typically talking about the record-setting Moits Mustang which will be unleashed for the event in Perth.

Speaking from the USA where he is getting their American-based car ready for racing in Memphis and St Louis, Paul Mouhayet pulled no punches when it came to his thoughts on bringing his twin turbo weapon to the hallowed stomping-ground of Top Doorslammers.

“Its still to be confirmed whether I am competing in the 10.5 Outlaw bracket or Outlaw Extreme,” noted Mouhayet.

“I already own the turbo record in Outlaw Extreme and I will reset it in Perth. If I run Outlaw Extreme, those blower cars better bring their A-game.”
