Rapisarda Racing and Cory McClenathan have booked an appointment with Al-Anabi ace Shawn Langdon in first round of racing following a superb pass of  3.86/ 487 km/h to qualify in 16 th spot after four gruelling rounds at the final event on the 2012 NHRA Full Throttle championship season at Pomona, California.

On the last day of qualifying an opportunity to move up the field was frustrated when the Rapisarda missile dropped the # 1 cylinder 1.5 seconds into the run. The car coasting to the line at 4.42/287 km/h.
However on returning to the pits the team was pleased to discover that “no parts were damaged.”  According to Santo Jnr.

The teams final qualifying  run of 2012 ranks as one of their finest performances of the season a delighted team owner Santo Rapisarda told DNA.

“ We ran a fantastic 2.14 sec to 330 foot even though we dropped a cylinder at 1.56 secs. into the run. Despite that handicap we were still able to run  3.86/487 km/h and to be part of the quickest field in NHRA history is an honour.”

Tomorrow is the last day of the NHRA season in America for the Indianapolis based outfit that is quietly confident of upsetting the highly fancied Shawn Langdon in first round of eliminations.
