Jeremy “Jet” Martin finally achieved a career goal stopping the clock in 5.981 seconds at the Sydney Jamboree last weekend.

We have watched Martin’s VB commodore transition from a ten second street car to now becoming the world’s quickest Commodore over the past decade at Sydney Dragway.

With recent times in the low sixes, a five was only a matter of time for the twin turbo 526ci Pro Line Racing powered VB which still remarkably retains the original steel roof, quarters, pillars and sills.

Rocking up to the Jamboree with a sweet new paint scheme, Martin ignored the ridiculous heat and punched out a 6.002 at 246mph before coming back in the much cooler evening and smashing a 5.981 at 246mph. Boom!

Who needs a brand new Pro Mod when you have a mighty 1978 taxi to get you to the end of the dragstrip in five seconds.
