Greg & Kim Clayton – GKC Racing – will make their maiden appearance for the 2017/2018 400 Thunder Series at Willowbank Raceway at the Santo’s Super Thunder event.

Competing in the highly competitive Pro Alcohol for just the second time and with a car that is different to the usual funny cars and dragsters see GKC Racing as underdogs for the meeting.

“We are hoping to run some good elapsed times with our car and contribute to the spectacle of the evening show, which is run under the 3 round format,” said Greg Clayton. “Spectators get to see all the cars multiple times through the evening event.”

Greg is confident of being competitive in the extremely tough field.

“We have only been to the start line a handful of times with the NRE Hemi powered Pro Alcohol Altered, and we had some issues with our timing and fuel management system last outing. But the car did show plenty of promise so hopefully we can run some decent times this meeting,” he said.

GKC are also welcoming back Fuchs Lubricants as a product partner for the team. GKC Racing are no strangers to running a blown alcohol altered having won the 2013 National Championship in Competition Eliminator before taking a break from racing. During that season Fuchs Lubricants was the lubricant of choice and allowed GKC Racing to run quick and fast, resetting their class record on multiple occasions.

“Stepping up to Pro Alcohol has been a massive leap from our sportsman days, but we are extremely thankful that again we have a quality lubricant as our product partner,” commented Greg.

Track time is the key for the team, and they are really looking forward to racing at Willowbank Raceway in front of a full house.

“It’s a great track to run at, its always got great traction. The fans are always welcoming and really it’s the home of Pro Alcohol racing, where the class originated from in the late 80’s early 90’s. We look forward to meeting plenty of fans this Friday night,” he said.

GKC Racing would like to thank Fuchs Lubricants, RD Williams Excavator Parts, Ken Lowe Fuel Systems, NRE, Steven Ham and the GKC Racing crew and families. Be sure to ‘Like’ GKC Racing on Facebook to stay up to date with all the latest news.
