The final was a familar sight with the Father and son dragster combo of Bill and Josh Flecter again taking on each other. With no quarter given as usual with these two, Josh was on the noise 5 thou too quick and plucked off the cherry.

Top Sportsman was a classic Ford vs Holden final between two the state’s toughest Sportsman racers in Paul Doeblien and Daniel Morris. Doeblien out-gunned Morris on the tree and would not be headed despite a late 8.411 charge on a 8.41 dial from Morris.

The Modified final was full of experience with Bob Frawley facing off with Phil Bellert. Near identical .01 reactions on the tree would have this race decided at the stripe, and it was Frawley with the nose of his dragster infront with a 7.948 on a 7.94 holding off Bellert’s 7.801 on a 7.78.

Damien Morris chalked up a win in his Monaro defeating Patrick Barron’s Beretta in the Super Sedan final.

In Modified Bike, Sam Taylor’s .003 reaction in the final looked awesome until Micheal Beaton mic-dropped a .001. Beaton rode around Taylor in the top end to take home the win with a 8.573 on a 8.48.

A superior 10.916 on a 10.90 lap saved Shawn Taskis from a less than ideal reaction that saw him nailed to the tree by half a tenth against Mark Rossow, but the Capri racer over came the difference at the stripe for the win.

Dominic Nipperess was two-thou too quick at the tree in Junior Dragster handing the win to Teanah Littlewood in their final match up.

The next round of the QDRC is on May 12.

The racing was spectacular with wheelstands certainly the order of the day.
