Team Bray Racing will soon be on its way to Sydney Dragway, ready for this weekend’s Gulf Western Oil Nitro Thunder event.

TBR’s Ben Bray and Frankie Taylor will do battle as part of a 13-strong Pro Slammer field, taking part in two test sessions on Friday the 4th of May before the ‘all-run’ racing format gets underway from 4.00pm on Saturday, May 5th.

This weekend’s event, sponsored by valued TBR supporter Gulf Western Oil, is the penultimate round of the 400 Thunder Pro Slammer Championship Chase, with TBR in the box seat for a top three finish.

“The truck leaves tomorrow for Sydney and we are super pumped to be heading to the Gulf Western Oil Nitro Thunder event,” said Ben Bray.

“Not only is it an event sponsored by our own naming rights sponsor, Gulf Western Oil, but it is also the penultimate round of the title and the fight is well and truly on for positions 3, 4 and 5 with both myself and Frankie (291pts and 289pts respectively) in the running behind Mark Belleri (319pts-currently third in the points standings).

“Sydney is also where I set my personal best pass of 5.700 seconds and was the host of Frankie’s first ever Australian event win, which came in what was his first race over here and his first event for TBR!”

US star Taylor, who competed at North Carolina’s zMAX Dragway for the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at the weekend, is currently on his way to Sydney from Texas accompanied by his brother Paul and his crewman Jeremy.
“I am so excited to be heading back to Australia to race with TBR in Sydney,” Taylor said before departing the US.

“This is a very important event for our supporters Gulf Western Oil, and it is a very important event for me too – I am hoping I can back-up my previous win there with another event victory this weekend!

“With 13 Pro Slammers entered, the competition is going to be intense – I can’t wait to get into it!”

As well as the two Pro Slammers, TBR is also bringing along Ben Bray’s burnout car to help keep the fans entertained.

“I love being able to put on a show for the fans, and that includes in my burnout car,” said Ben.

“This weekend is no different, and I am looking forward to spending plenty of time in it, when I am not in the ‘Slammer that is,” he laughed.

The Gulf Western Oil Nitro Thunder event will be held at Sydney Dragway across Friday May 4 and Saturday May 5. For event information, please visit www.sydneydragway.com.au
