The Mega Fuels team experienced success all round at Gulf Western Oil Nitro Thunder, with a win and two runner ups for the team’s three cars.

Aaron Tremayne took victory in Pro Stock with brother Tyronne claiming runner up, while Rolinia Tremayne scored a runner up in Competition.

Aaron said the team had been working in a new direction with their cars, which produced immediate results.

“We knew we had some work to do to get the cars running the numbers to be competitive and go rounds,” he said. “We made some changes on both cars and hoped they were the right changes. They proved to be with myself and Tyronne running into the sixes.”

The first round saw Aaron take a bye, while Tyronne defeated Pro Stock newcomer Rob Dekert.

Two more wins arrived in the second round with a 6.94 victory for Tyronne over Rick Chilton as Aaron went 6.93 to get by Bill Perdikaris. The result was a Tremaniac lock out in the final round.

Cooling weather would challenge the brothers for the final, with dew settling on to the track. Tyronne blew the tyres off at the hit while Aaron skated down track for low ET of the event with a 6.91.

“We had to be reasonably conservative with the car setup,” Aaron said. “The cars were definitely even so I thought it would come down to reaction times and good driving.

“I had to abort the run before the finish line as the car was continually on the limiter as the tyres lost traction, but we still managed the 6.91.”

Tyronne was looking forward to providing more opposition to his sibling rival.

“I was disappointed to have a strong car through all the rounds and not to be able to give Aaron a run for his money,” he said. “But I was glad to get to the final and to have two Mega Fuels cars at the end awesome.

“Congrats to Raz, but I am going to beat you.”

In Competition, Tyronne’s wife Rolinia was in career form, top qualifying her B/DA with a 7.04 pass before reaching the final round, where Chris Berias just managed to stay out in front.

“I was so happy to be number one qualifier,” she said.

“I was closing on Chris fast and thought I was going to be close, but I wasn’t close enough as Chris got to the win light – congrats to him. We have both done damage to our indexes so it is going to be harder from here. I was still very happy and went home with a silver tree.

“I would like to say thank you to Kerry, Raz and my husband for a great race car.”

There was some good news from the final however, with Rolinia setting her first national record with her 6.99 second time.

The team wishes to thank Mega Bulk Fuels, Tremaniac Racing, NXTGEN Engineering, Aqualine Pools, LAT Racing Oils, Diamond Pistons, Speedflow, Trend Performance, CP Carrillo, Total Seal, PRS Suspensions, Baileys Brake and Clutch, 6 Boost and their crew Kyle, Robbie, Peta and Dave for their help to turn around three cars.
