First steps to a new Central Queensland drag strip

Last Tuesday the Central Highlands Drag Racing Association was formed with a meeting of over 100 drag racing racers and punters eager to begin the process of developing a eighth mile drag strip in the Central Queensland town of Emerald.

While the planning is still in the very early stages, the CHDRA are looking to build the track adjacent to the Emerald Go Kart Track.

The facility will feature a burnout pad and a family environment to engage the local community, the tracks presence will also bring much sort after hospitality business into the town from travelling racers and fans.

The CHDRA hope to recruit around 800 members and already have over 300 on the books in the first few days of operation.
