Round one of the JP Racing Eighth Mile Drag Racing Series kicked off with a great entry list of 95, up 10 from last year. After all of the weird weather that has been in Queensland of late it was great to see a fine and sunny day and not too hot.

New cars were seen especially in the new FG Loy & Sons Earthmoving Eighth Mile Outlaw Bracket. It was great to see nine entries for the first time running the bracket and once the turbo and nitrous guys get on to it it will only go up from here.

At the presentations, winner Rodney Hansen said: “Where else can you do seven passes in a day and still have a great time?”

It is important to understand the concept of the JP Racing Eighth Mile Drag Racing Series and the way it has built a series for grass roots racers to compete and achieve success. The concept carries with it a “badge” of distinction for the round winners with exceptional trophies and terrific bragging rights to series winners gaining them the specially made crystal Christmas Tree trophies. All South East Queensland tracks are involved and they were all strongly represented at Warwick.

Winners on the day were:

FG LOY & SONS EARTHMOVING: EIGHTH  MILE OUTLAWS BRACKET
