Australia is soon to have another nitro bike in its ranks with the reveal of John Zahra’s new Kawasaki.

The owner of Filta-Wash in Mackay has completed construction on the motorcycle and has tested it at Palmyra Dragway ahead of its official launch in Mackay.

Starting his career as a turbo Harley racer in Modified Bike and Competition Bike, Zahra is keen to make the move up to the 400 Thunder Pro Series. After a seven year build in both Australia and New Zealand, Zahra’s would like to make a competition debut at the 50th Winternationals at Willowbank Raceway.

“It was seven years in the making, starting off in NZ and finishing here in Australia,” said Zahra. “Every part on the bike is brand new and proven, with the longest frame in Australia. It has a 1500cc supercharged nitro RBP engine with all his newest upgrades, two speed B&J Transmission, McBride fuel system and Race Pac 300v Data Mag 44 Ignition. We’ve started testing the bike and everything is going okay. I’m hoping to be at the Winternationals at Willowbank this year.”

The launch of the bike will be at the Filta-Wash at Mackay on Saturday February 18th as part of their Open Day. The Open Day will run from 8.30am to 12pm, with a bike start-up for the general public at 11am. There will also be a sausage sizzle and small giveaways at the event.
