The Shannons Street Machine Nationals website. 2011 is set to be a big year for the event with the move to the more entrant friendly Sydney Dragway.

Moving the event from Rosehill Racecourse to the Dragway meant that we could make the Street Machine Nationals more streamlined and easier for the entrants to make their way to certain areas within the complex.

By far, the biggest news is that for 2011 we are having a full-tilt Pro-Street Shoot-Out – something that Sydney has lacked for way too long. Held in conjunction with the Australian Pro-Street Association, this part of the Street Machine Nationals will be held on Saturday only! What a spectacular show is promises to be. Then on Sunday, the racers return to have their cars on display as they battle it out for a trophy or two in the Alfa Motorsport Fibreglass Pro-Street Performance Show-Off. Get up close and personal with the wildest street cars on the planet!

Another positive about moving the Street Machine Nationals to Sydney Dragway is that we can expand the Autocross circuit and make it a hell of a lot smoother for the drivers. The Pro-Bag Autocross Challenge will be held in the pits on both days – giving the drivers plenty of time to hone their skills.

Introducing the Mothers Show Car Masters! In the USA, the highest accolade a show car builder can win is the Ridler Award. In Australia, we now have the Show Car Master award. We have gathered 20 of the best cars we could find and they will be set up inside the Mothers Show Car Pavilion all weekend whilst our panel of judges scrutinise every square inch of these amazing cars to find the winner.

Bring your shade with you. We have a huge area for the general show and shine which will be situated outside and around the Mothers Show Car Masters pavilion. We encourage entrants to bring sunshades, easy-ups and the like to set up beside their car at the show and shine. Car Clubs are more than welcome to fly the clubs banners as well. Just make sure the structure is sturdy incase of wind!

We’re family friendly! We have a kids chill out zone where the little one’s can enjoy the attractions in between checking out the great cars and traders. And to make sure the family are safe, the Shannons Street Machine Nationals is a No Alcohol event!

There’s so much more happening at the Shannons Street Machine Nationals that you’ll have to be their to take it all in. It all happens at Sydney Dragway over the weekend of May 14th and 15th!
