Despite some dubious weather floating around the event was run and done as a record number of entries contested the first event of the series.

“We beat the weather to complete round one of the JP Racing Eighth Mile Drag Racing Series held at Warwick Dragway on Saturday night. When we saw that the weather was not looking too good the Warwick crew put in a great effort to keep ahead of the game, great job guys thanks,” said Series organiser John Winterburn.

“We had 140 entries which was a record entry list for the JP Series at Warwick Dragway.”
