Perseverance key to success for PRE motorsport

The 2011 Nitro Champs has not gone to plan with the inclement weather that has been hitting the Western Sydney area; however, the PRE Motorsport/Goldfingers Gentlemen’s team did manage to make two runs today.

The latter of the two runs will be cancelled due to the session not being completed and the second qualifying session will be re-run tomorrow morning.

“This is definitely not the way we anticipated that the event be run, however, we do thank the Management and Staff of Sydney Dragway for taking the time to consider the options available and allow us to re-run the second qualifying session tomorrow morning,” remarked Andrew Stavoulakis, PRE Motorsport/Goldfingers Gentlemen’s Club Dodge Stratus.

The first of the two runs that the team completed today netted a 7.162 second elapsed time, which was good enough for provisional pole position. Stavoulakis’ second run recorded a 7.20 second pass.

“The first run, we didn’t have the chance to record any data due to a malfunction with the data logger, which already placed us behind the eight ball for our second pass. We also believe that the track was too cold for us to be able to improve on our early 7.16,” said Stavoulakis.

The PRE Motorsport/Goldfingers Gentlemen’s team will return trackside tomorrow, May 1st at Sydney Dragway to complete the remainder of the 2011 Nitro Champs.
