Not your average photo shoot

DNA’s international media partner, DragRaceCanada.com in support of it’s primary presenting sponsor Mopar®, ventured into rather unchartered photographic territory recently.

Just prior to the start of the recent NHRA Amalie Oil Gatornationals in Florida — we received a very unique and most probably one-in-a-lifetime photo assignment which included nothing less then a full grown Asian elephant.

That took place out at the Two Tales Ranch (Williston FL) a popular safe haven and rehabilitation facility where activities were closely monitored by Florida wildlife officials who were on hand.
Our subjects included guest of honour “Luke” — a 29-year old “gentle giant” along with the primary Team Mopar® Pro drivers who unveiled and debuted for the first time their all new race cars. That included a very special limited edition Dodge Charger Fuel Funny Car for Matt Hagan and the all new 2014 Dodge Dart Pro Stockers for star drivers Allen Johnson and Jeg Coughlin.
Pietro Gorlier, the President and CEO for Mopar was also in attendance.

The overall intention was for the function to help to kickoff Dodge and Mopar’s celebration this 2014 season for the 50th Anniversary of their fabled Hemi engine — which was long ago dubbed the “elephant motor” within drag racing circles.
Needless to say the event provided for a very rare opportunity for photography and it also achieved and exceeded the media impact it was designed for.
Hagan’s “Elephant Charger” FC did not actually run at the Gainesville that weekend — it will make it’s racing debut for fans during the Mopar® Mile-High Nationals out at Denver CO during July.

But we would be remiss if we didn’t mention that Allen Johnson’s new Hemi-powered Pro Stock Dodge Dart did prevail to win on Sunday night, cumulating a truly incredible debut.
